how can you be so heartless?

WARNING: You won't like me when I'm furious! and you won't like reading this.

No, this isn't about the song. it's about the rhythm of my heart. Tell me, to a forgiving heart when will enough be enough? How do you know? How do you it is time to stop forgiving (or maybe forgive still) but time to start forgetting. Why can one person be so insensitive? Why do other people try to take advantage and not EVER realize your worth? To them, it seems as if it is totally fine to play with your emotions. with your heart. In fact, that should never ever happen. How come there are people who does not see through you? Do they really think everything is just about themselves? That there is absolutely no other side of the story? That people should ONLY AND ONLY consider their own limits? To you reading this, people like them exist. THEY DO. They exist in this perfectly unfair world and will try to suck the life out of you. And im warning you. Please do avoid them.

And if you are one of them, PLEASE IM DOWN ON MY KNEES BEGGING YOU TO STOP IT. Change for the better and do all of us a big favor. Stop hurting people who cares for you because there will come a point in their lives that they'll realize you are THAT kind of person. Stop being a pain in the a**. Stop making me curse but allow me to. No one is stopping me because I have reached that point. I am in the peak of my anger and I am hurt TOO MUCH. F*CK YOU! And yes, M*R*N me for realizing just now. BULLSH*T! You dirty little piece of CR*P!!!

There, there I said it. I don't get to ask for forgiveness for blogging about this because you sure as hell do not deserve it. I trusted you with my emotions and you don't get to play with it like it's some f*ckin' toy and not feel bad and guilty about it! Not anymore. Not a chance, not a bit! And never ever in my heart will you find forgiveness with me.

After tonight, I get to sleep well. I hope you don't a**hole!

my Lenten abstinence

"Dust you are and to dust you shall return"

This is the day wherein we are reminded of our mortality. Ministers rub lightly with ashes our foreheads forming the sign of the cross signifying our mortal life - Ash Wednesday. Actually, on this day Christians (Catholics) are easily identified among crowds (aside from the Indians' red dots). It marks the start of Lenten Season. Hence, it's FASTING time. So, here's my unusual abstinence for this year's Lent.

Along with the rise of new technologies and advancement of the world, I thought of fasting for Facebook. Funny how fasting and abstinence can also "upgrade".

Seriously.

They say one should do fasting for those things that do harm to your life. And I say, lately Facebook is the root of all evil in my life. It wastes my time. I easily get hooked up with it. It is also an avenue for me to play Little Miss Lucy! name it. Pride. Proud. Judgmental. Envy. Irrational. I know I know, I have a LOT of issues.

There goes my religious side. I'm not religious BTW. Just spiritual.

So, day 1 and 2 is over. Facebook fasting lasts 40 days. hmmm.. ready, set, challenge!

How bout you, what are you abstaining from?

this one's for you, Mister.

it's the Hearts Day everyone! What was your surprise? =)

I woke up early and got many greetings. There's a different aura today when I woke up not knowing I would receive a sweet "surprise" on the other side of my bed. I am really a big fan of surprises. Yes oh yes, I do love them.

When I woke up this morning, I went back to sleep again without turning the other side. But when I woke up for the second time, turned my back against the wall and woke up on the other side of my bed. There, I saw....

Dear ______________,

Thank you for the "surprise". Though I don't know who you are somehow, it made me feel good today. I see you've been reading my blogs (based on your letter) so I decided to make a Thank You blog just for you. I appreciate it. I hope you can read this. Thank you for making me smile and reminding me not to sleep this day away. =) Happy Hearts Day to you, too.

p.s.
i will try to understand the things you'll say.
p.p.s.
just let me know when you get things right.

Yours Truly,
Ms. StringBean ;p

dinner: early and late

In a day, I eat a small amount of breky, enough amount of lunch, and heavy dinner. I know, right? It should be the other way. But that's just me and that's how i roll. I have a thing for dinners. It's like my own version of breakfast. For the last 2 weeks, I pretty much had so many dinners with good good friends (homies, SHOULDERS, high school friends) and I love the fact that I am blessed to have good friends to share dinner with. yaaay for that!

One night, the minute I lay down to sleep my Sun mobile rang and I got an SMS message. It was Reina(homies) inviting me for Mcdonald's. Did I mention that was already 12-ish am. Nevertheless, hot choco with hush in the middle of the night is just puuurrrfect!

Just recently, had a date with Dyll and Hani(high school friends). Joy should've been there but she was sick. To Joy: Get well soon Joy! you were missed that night!

It was nice catching up with you guys! and see you again soonest! I always look forward to our "catching up" times.

good friends + dinners = perfect combo!

of casual talks, jokes, and laughters

Without them friends, I would have given up life.

Whoever said desserts should be eaten after dinner hasn't been to Dessert Factory and has not ordered Ice Mango "Dream" Cake and OreoSickle. uh-huh! My hush and me ate desserts first just to have some sugar rush before meeting friends.

After our chicken and fish dinner (because everything else on the menu is not available) at Roma Mia and nonsense chitchats over dinner,

we took our almost-forgotten picture. Monday night was friendship night.

Smile guys! till next time!

Thank you for making me laugh that night! =D

Cupid, where art thou?

♥ ♥ ♥ iz zi love month ei ♥ ♥ ♥

...but here I am with a quote sent by a fellow SHOULDERS (my college group of friends' name). So, here it goes:

"at some point, you will realize that you have done too much already for someone, that the only next possible step to do, is to leave them alone." -anonymous

...and I might be spending V-day sleeping whole day or something else boring. how uncool. This year, I have to pass on those Shakespearean ala Romeo&Juliet rendezvous.

Kira Micaela Bajenting-Abrigana, RN

woot woot!

this is our closed eyed, eyes-opened, half-eye-closed-half-eye-open "bleh" for all the worries endured. This picture was taken on the 2nd and last day of the NLE hence, the scrub suit of THE RN. :)

Shout out to my cousin, Ate Kim for passing the Nursing Licensure Exam last November 2009. woot woot!! :D All your hardwork was worth it :) All the early-to-bed nights and early-to-rise days; all the study-all-day and absolutely not allowed to watch TV or use the pc regulations or or no-laag days; all your waiting days paid off. FINALLY, my RN cousin you reap the fruits of your labor. It's just the start of your path though and soon, you will go places and reach your dreams! Definitely, prayers do help.

i ♥ you ke-pak atsi. =)

And to the rest of my friends and the board passers, CONGRATULATIONS to all of you BOARD PASSERS especially the Redders. You were in my prayers. Thank You Lord for the good news who saved my day.

one random day

Nothing beats a lazy afternoon with a good book in a relaxing place with only nonliving "friends" (my mobile phone, Sbux planner, Parker pen, Sophie bag & the things inside it) to mingle with. Last Thursday, while waiting for my dinnermates (Shoulders) I found a little ME-time since I had no work to do. After a morning's day at work, I went to National Bookstore in Mango Avenue, looked for a good book to read, squat on the Kiddie section, and there goes my perfect little piece of adventure.

And oh, I have read the book cover to cover that afternoon, wrote on my planner, and took my soul to an enchanting daydreaming. Wandering is always, always the best medicine for my lonely heart. (aww)

And here are some of my favorite lines from the book, Simple Business: Learning Business From Experience by Antonio M. Andales Sr.

*Unwanted feeling of shame is a very expensive thing to keep. It usually costs you.
*If you think you have experienced the worst, be glad. From then on, all the rest will be easy.
*If necessity is the mother of invention, misery is the mother of achievements.

I wouldn't want to give my sentiments over those lines otherwise;
I might end up blogging an online novel.

So, the next time you'll come looking for me, you know where to go. :)

paying respects to Mr. Cerge M. Remonde at Malacanang Cebu

I have come to realize that people by nature are good because when one person leaves this mortal world, there's nothing but goodness that everyone else utters about the dead. I reckon people (Filipinos most especially) ALWAYS try to look at the brighter side of things. hmm...Pretty inspiring for a pessimist like me.

Last week, January 19, 2010, Cebu wept. in fact, the whole Philippines lost another great man. Hon. Cerge M. Remonde - Presidential Press Secretary died due to a cardiac arrest. He was a Cebuano, an Argaoanon to be exact. Inicidentally, my father's lineage roots from Argao so partly, my family grieved for his untimely death. My aunt even storytold that Mr. Remonde considered our family a part of his (i have to use the local term 'namaryente' as it would be the most appropriate word). Of course, he was a pride to us Cebuanos. He was one of the few Cebuanos to make it to the top and shine. Statuswise, he was sort of the liaison of Cebu and the Malacanang. (Un) Fortunately, I happen to be the EIC of our batch's Yearbook and his mobile number came in handy for something the staff need from PGMA herself but I was too busy (or intimidated) to seek for his ever-ready assistance. (talk about regrets....)

Anyway, his remains were brought from Malacanang to Cebu's Malacanang Friday of last week. And so the family decided to visit his wake. Just like his (Mr. Remonde) usual "press releases", his wake turned to a political arena. Media here and there and of course, politicians with smirks on their faces suggesting hidden agendas. And yes, I was there too. I had the honor to see him at close lying on his coffin. There was a necrological service done sponsored by his Media friends. I had to admit it was fun and interesting listening to mediamen's eulogy. The words being used, the figures of speech used, the grammar, the tone - yes, I assumed to be one heck of a critic that night! (talk about self-declaration rights, haha)

I will leave you with an excerpt of a favorite line from the eulogy of Ms. Eileen Mangubat, publisher of Cebu Daily News (CDN). i love the technicality of the whole statement and the emotional impact it makes, too egoistic. i like!

"...lasting alliances and i dare say, a few enemies."

p.s. Malacanag Cebu isn't that nice. nothing majestic. and next time, I will post a low-res photo taken from my camera phone. Life sucks without camera!

Thank God It's Friday

...NOT YET!

On a Tuesday night (err Wednesday since it is past 12 already), I am blogging about my last week's Friday night. I swear this is making me want to fast-forward my week to its tail end. Anyhoo, you should have heard me say those TGIF-words last Friday. I think I suffered a little mental illness that day, Schizophrenia. The cause? AVATAR. Yes, my family and I went wanderlusting in Pandora.

Seriously, I got lost in my imagination. I got lost watching the movie in 3D. Take note: IN.THREE.D. That's how my weekday-ender and weekend-starter went! Pretty awesome, right?

You did not take me seriously, right? (about the mental disorder part)...I love Hyperboles. But I tell you. AVATAR is A.MUST.WATCH! and you should watch it in 3D.

good night for now and let us enjoy the start of the week.
BTW, I am watching Avatar (again) by the time I'm making this blog.

I SEE YOU, itsmeyenney

Starbucks goal: HIT!

paying for my last drink to complete my stickers.
and thanks to Ate Kim for taking a picture of this favored moment.
also, to Hush for helping me out with the coffee part of it.

I love traditions but I' m the adventurous/risky type of person with a bit of spontaneity. I'm not really a big fan of routines yet I am for routines. (okay, that was confusing!) Anyway, talk about traditions; after 17 drinks of Starbucks' sig. hot chocolate, cream-blended, and low-calorie/low-coffee content drinks, I finally laid my hands on my 2010 Starbucks Planner. My homie, Joanela introduced me to this tradition 3 years ago and since then, I'm hooked. Except for last year though, I decided not to get a planner. It was sorta my "sacrifice" but that's another story to tell.

Yearly, Starbucks' holiday promotion is their Special Edition Starbucks Planner. You have to purchase a certain number of their drinks (except for juices and water) for a certain period of time in order to get yourself a planner. It usually runs from November to mid-January. Every planner also has a cause. This year, every planner enrich a child's life. :)

and I got mine just tonight. Another item off my list. sweeet :)

Till next holiday season promo, Starbucks! I'll see you then.
EXCEPT for the times that I want to chitchat with friends over coffee or just plain craving for my new favorite drink from them, Signature Hot Chocolate (before,it was Vanilla Frappe on venti size and with extra whipped cream).

Be an inspiration. Light up others' lives.

On a regular day,I just take my point-and-shoot & make the most out of it.
Some things are just best done on random.
and how I love taking macro shots.
I'd like to practice more on that someday (and with an SLR this time :D)....

Before you ask me or yourself what the title of my blog has to do with the content, well...that's simple. My favorite macro shot (topmost) says it all. (however, do not mind my dirty nail on it) Being a light to others could somehow be self-fulfilling. I have lots of people in mind right now who served as an inspiration in my life. It just got me to thinking "Have I in the smallest way inspired someone else?". I hope so and I hope everyone is working on that because if everyone does that, the world might turn to a something better place to live in. Good night everyone. Be an inspiration and Light up others' lives.

Cebu's extension for the holidays: Sinulog.

There is something so good about Cebu. You see, our Holiday season extends up to January. To be more precise, the third week of it. After a long hiatus from December, Cebu suffers (luckily) from a hangover that lasts up until the third Sunday of January, the feast of Sr. Sto. Nino or the famous "Sinulog" festival. Oh yes! that's just how Cebu roll...kicking off the first month of the year with a grand celebration spiritually and socially. Now, if you're in for a ride, here are some ways to celebrate Sinulog.

1. Try checking out the Muslim stalls along Osmena
Blvd. infront of Abellana National High School for some goodies (oOoh! cheap thrills!)
2. Attend to at least one Novena mass at the Basilica del Santo Nino. This starts 9 days prior to the 3rd Saturday of January. (be sure to bring a fan, it comes in very handy)
3. Watch Ms. Cebu Coronation Night. (yes, there's a TV telecast)
4. Attend to one of the events in Fuente Circle usually held at night. (partying at the heart of the city sure is a fun thing to do)
5. Take a walk at the night market in Colon St. (lots of street foods and people, too)
6. Witness the fluvial parade in Mactan happening on the dawn or early morning of the 3rd Saturday of January wherein the Miracoulous image of Sto. Nino is honored.
7. Join in the procession on the afternoon of the 3rd Saturday of January. (boy, this is a long walk. dont forget to hydrate yourself!)
8. Go to mass on the day of the Sinulog. (note: go to mass early or else, you will find it hard to find passable routes especially in downtown area)
9. Have a walkathon and enjoy the rest of the day of Sinulog. Watch the parade and oh, dance to the beat, too.
10. Do not forget all the ravishing and lively street parties and all sorts of parties this mardi gras has to offer.
note: your umbrella might be your bestfriend for the mardi gras days. ;D

Today, I attended the 7th day Novena mass with my cousin. Here are some of my takes. Notice the big crowd. That's from the 7pm mass. We actually attended the 530pm mass which BTW, had a bigger crowd.

The Pilgrim Center was jampacked with devotees coming from all walks of life.

Sto. Nino is the great equalizer.

...and that's me at the end. Lighting up a candle after the mass. it's me, yenney. :)

I finally ENTER blogging!

After a 2-month-series of overdue and procrastination (another New Year Swear I have yet to work on,tsk), I finally blog. Blogging was a top-placer on my dense yet concise list (now, how is that even possible?) of New Year Swears. And to kick off 2010, I.FINALLY.BLOG.

1 down. a lot more to go. What better way to start the year by feeling so fulfilled as I cross out one item on my list. Cheers to a wandering 2010. Drink up for a WANDER-ful year ahead of me. =)
